Meet the experts: Trevor Dale

We are conducting a series of interviews with leading experts in specific areas of training whose insights and challenges we hope you will find interesting. All these experts deliver what we consider to be high stakes training, training that is vital to safety and organisational performance. We will be making these interviews available, both in their entirety and in bite size videos; look out for them here and on Linkedin.

Our first expert is Trevor Dale. Trevor is a guru in the world of Human Factors training and consultancy. An ex airline pilot, and BA training captain, Trevor was part of the team that developed and wrote the original Human Factors training that is still used by BA and the broader airline industry today, training which is instrumental in making civil aviation one of the safest sectors in the world.

For those of you who don’t know, Human Factors examines the relationship between human beings and the systems with which they interact in order to mitigate risk and generate better situational awareness.

Trevor has spent the last twenty years applying his Human Factors expertise to healthcare which offers very different challenges to aviation. His insights and experience are truly fascinating.
